Family has always been very important to me. I come from a family of five and my husband is one of fifteen. Family values seem to have been lost over the years and I find that very sad. I believe in being tucked in at night and having dinner together, going on vacations, crying together and laughing together.
I love to read to my children at bedtime. I found this awesome book titled Inspirational Kids Stories, much better than TV. Click on the link and take a look for yourself. I have also enjoyed another book titled Children of Character. Each story presents a specific character trait through an entertaining story that leaves children with a solid understanding of the trait and how to apply it in their lives. to see for yourself.
I don’t know about you but I don’t like most of what I see on TV. I do not want my child glued to the TV or some video game. I do not own a WII or Game Cube, I tell my children to go outside and play, ride a bike, read a book. We as parents need to take responsibility. The TV is not our babysitter not is it healthy for our children. I found a great Idea on line and I want to share it with you. This book has over 700 fun kids crafts with illustrations and templates. This is great for rainy days or any time you would like you children to get away from the TV. You have to check this out!

It’s refreshing to see that family is still important to some people and organizations. Here in ARizona, as elsewhere,some are trying to totaly change the definition of “family” to accommodate deviant life styles. If this continues, our nation will cease to enjoy the blessings of a divine creator and we will suffer the consequences.

Comment by John Alley October 9, 2008 @ 11:06 pmI think it is great spending lots of family time and keeping the kids away from video games and TV. The problem with most families today is “no togetherness.” In most households there are TV’s in every room and video games.
